How Room for Hope can Help.
I currently offer a completely remote service via video (Teams or WhatsApp), email and chat therapy (WhatsApp). I can support anyone in the UK (over 18s only) who is seeking therapy for their concerns. I can support a wide range of issues (see below), however if there is an issue outside of my expertise then I will do my best to provide some signposting to someone more suitable. Room for Hope offers a safe and trauma-informed approach to support; being trauma-informed is understanding an individual’s trauma and how it can affect day to day life; the impact on feeling safe, what may be triggering and the need to support emotional regulation safely. We will go at your pace, understand and explore triggers safely, provide opportunity to develop grounding techniques and empower you to be in control. Everyone’s journey is different and working through trauma takes time.
I am a pluralistic counsellor/psychotherapist, this means that I am trained in different approaches and can adapt this to the issues that come up along the way. I am trained in working with psychodynamic theory (exploring past experiences and childhood and working on deeply rooted thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviours), person-centred theory (the client guides what they want from therapy, we build on the therapeutic relationship and I provide a safe, non-judgemental and empathetic space) and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT – being active in exploring and changing difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are not healthy).
I can support the following:
-
Anxiety
-
Depression

Low self-esteem/self-worth
-
Self-defeating behaviours
